About ISEN
ISEN is an engineering school which dates back to the birth of
Electronics. It was founded on a University campus with 6 university
departments and 30 colleges. This 120 year-old university brings
together 20 000 students in disciplines as varied as Science and
Technology, Arts and Humanities, Economics and Management, Medicine.
ISEN consists of 3 campuses in Brest, Lille, and Toulon. The training
and research activities are recognized worldwide in all the applications
of Electronics: Control Engineering, IT,Telecommunications, Networking,
Microelectronics as well as Nanotechnologies.
300 students graduate every year. 6 000 ISEN-trained engineers,
are currently working on all continents and in all industrial branches.
Most of them are employed in French or foreign international companies
such as: EADS,Thales Group, Airbus, IBM,Toyota, British Telecom,
Siemens,STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Intel,Texas Instruments and
more.

ISEN:Research at the forefront
ISEN supports innovative research at the highest level in engineering
sciences and is one of the leading French engineering schools to
account for more than 30 faculties belonging to the Centre National
de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). ISEN has always been strongly
committed in maintaining a favourable research environment for its
faculty, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows by contributing
to the creation of several renowned national research institutes
(IEMN, IRCICA, L2MP).
Research activities include IT,telecommunications, signal, processing,
microelectronics, optoelectronics, acoustics, microsystems and emerging
fields, such as nanosciences and bioelectronics.
ISEN : reaching out to France, Europe and the world
Being a student at ISEN means being located in France but also
at the heart of Europe. The 3 ISEN campuses deliver the same training
but offer specialized electives. In the final year, students can
choose to change campus,or do a year in a partner school in Paris,
Lyon or Angers or even go abroad to a partner university.
Campus on the Atlantic
Located in Brittany, in Brest, a centre of high technology on the
ocean. 24000 students reside in the metropolitan area.The countryside
is stunning and the sea offers all nautical sports. Brest is one
of the great sailing capitals in the world.
Campus on the Mediterranean
Located in Toulon, on the Mediterranean sea, near Italy and Spain.
Campus life is lively offering access to culture and sport: concerts,
exhibitions, sailing and surfing, not to mention 7 hectares of beachfront
right in the centre of the town.
Campus in the heart of Europe
Located in Lille at walking distance of the town centre, in an
area with a 20000 student population. Lille is one hour from Paris,
30 minutes from Brussels, less than 2 hours from London and three
hours from Amsterdam and Cologne.
