ISEN is an engineering school which dates back to the birth of
Electronics. It was founded on a University campus with 6 university
departments and 30 colleges. This 120 year-old university brings
together 20 000 students in disciplines as varied as Science and
Technology, Arts and Humanities, Economics and Management, Medicine.
ISEN consists of 3 campuses in Brest, Lille, and Toulon. The training
and research activities are recognized worldwide in all the applications
of Electronics: Control Engineering, IT,Telecommunications, Networking,
Microelectronics as well as Nanotechnologies.
300 students graduate every year. 6 000 ISEN-trained engineers,
are currently working on all continents and in all industrial branches.
Most of them are employed in French or foreign international companies
such as: EADS,Thales Group, Airbus, IBM,Toyota, British Telecom,
Siemens,STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Intel,Texas Instruments and
6 000 ISEN-trained engineers - 1500 students
3 campuses - 100 teachers - 12 labs
ISEN:Research at the forefront
ISEN supports innovative research at the highest level in engineering
sciences and is one of the leading French engineering schools to
account for more than 30 faculties belonging to the Centre National
de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). ISEN has always been strongly
committed in maintaining a favourable research environment for its
faculty, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows by contributing
to the creation of several renowned national research institutes
(IEMN, IRCICA, L2MP).
Research activities include IT,telecommunications, signal, processing,
microelectronics, optoelectronics, acoustics, microsystems and emerging
fields, such as nanosciences and bioelectronics.
ISEN : reaching out to France, Europe and the world
Being a student at ISEN means being located in France but also
at the heart of Europe. The 3 ISEN campuses deliver the same training
but offer specialized electives. In the final year, students can
choose to change campus,or do a year in a partner school in Paris,
Lyon or Angers or even go abroad to a partner university.
